The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Bright cut engraved decorative bands throughout and a more ornate engraved floral garland frieze around the middle edging up to a large laurel wreath framed cartouche and small leaves in each corner of the foot. Small hand pierced holes to the cover, for use with sugar or spices.

Hallmarked for London, 1804, maker's initials CK or CH.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high and 5cm (2") wide and weighs 102g / 3.3ozt.
In excellent condition with no damage or dents, minor rubbing to the edge of the hallmarks but minimal to the engraved decoration and reeding. The cartouche is unengraved.
