Antique English Sterling Silver Pot Pourri Box - Pair Winged Cherubs / Angels

Description

A beautiful Edwardian sterling silver box made from sterling silver and standing on four elegant legs.

The lid of the box is pierced or reticulated with a central pair of winged cherubs or angels. The lid fits well and when opened reveals a beautifully gilded interior.

The box is hallmarked for Birmingham 1903. The makers initials are also present H M for the silversmith, Henry Matthews.

A lovely example in excellent condition measuring 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 1 5/8" tall. Weight: 2.45 Troy Ounces or 76.1 Grams.
