Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Heriz rugs originate from Northwest Iran and are distinguished by geometric central medallions, broad angular spandrels, and dense wool construction. Typically produced from the late nineteenth century through the early twentieth century, these carpets feature bold stylized motifs and natural dyes.

Traditional Heriz carpets feature a hand-knotted pile crafted from thick wool, spun onto a sturdy cotton warp and weft foundation. Local water supplies used during wool processing historically imparted high resilience to the fibres.

Authentic Heriz rugs display irregular hand-knotted backing patterns, geometric central medallions with angular framing, and tonal colour variations known as abrash. A flexible cotton backing without synthetic rubber backing further confirms traditional handwoven construction.

A Heriz rug functions as a foundational anchor beneath a sofa or dining table, providing geometric structure and rich tone to neutral spaces. Combining the rugs angular motifs with clean-lined contemporary furniture creates balanced visual contrast.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotary brush bar to avoid disturbing hand-knotted fibres. Clean spills immediately with a damp cloth, and rotate the carpet annually to ensure even wear and light exposure.
