A Matched Pair of Antique George II Silver Casters, Samuel Wood, 1746/1741

Description

A rare pair of matched silver casters for pepper or other condiments. Made in London by Samuel Wood in 1741 and 1746. They are almost identicle with only very slight variations. They are in excellent overall condition with no damage or repairs. These are a pair of survivors that have stood the test of time. Both are hallmarked underneath the foot and have detachable tops with fret cut holes. Both tops also have part hallmarks. Samuel Wood was recognized as an expert caster maker.

WEIGHT; 204 grams or 6.6 ozst for the pair.
