A Rare Pair of Georgian Silver 'Spaniel' Sewing Scissors

An exquisite and very rare pair of Georgian silver sewing scissors of novelty form. The blades are polished steel, while the fully cast silver finger holes are an unusual rectangular in shape with foliar details. Most unusually they have seated Spaniels joining them to the blades. An enchanting and particularly rare item of novelty sewing ware from the Georgian Regency period. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no holes or splits to the silver. The scissors have blemishes associated with steel that has been in use for many years and commensurate with age and use.
