Attractive Georgian brooch of a harp surmounted by a crown.
Probably Irish, early 19th century.
The harp or lyre of Celtic design, the crown is a version of the St Edwards Coronation crown, now missing the fleurs de lys which stood either side of the central cross.
Graduated hand cut sparkling foil backed clear paste stones, set in silver with gold highlights
Originally made as a pendant, later bar mounted as a brooch
Unmarked, guaranteed solid silver and gold
height 1,1/4'' or 32.5mm weight 7.8 grams
