The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the 1910s.
These are seldom seem because they were only briefly used during the war rationing years when sugar was often unavailable in restaurants. It has been beautifully made and is gilded inside. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2.5 inches (6.4cm) across by over 1 inch (2.8cm) tall and weighs 42 grams. A very nicely made rare piece and snap shot of history.
