George V 1911 Coronation Stool

1900 - 1920
Description

An original stool from King George V's Coronation at Westminster Abbey on 22nd June 1911.

It has a dark stained wood frame and tapering legs joined by stretchers. The underside is stamped 'GR V Coronation' and also stamped with the maker 'W.Bartlett & Son'.

It has been re-webbed and re-upholstered in a traditional blue velvet fabric with gold embroidered edging.

The stool itself has been well looked after and is in good condition for its age. It is strong and sturdy and the joints were able to be strengthened to further prolong the stool during re-upholstery. There are some minor knocks and marks on the frame but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
