Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This antique Turkish Kula carpet of the 1900 period presents an Anatolian style executed in soft wool with a pile finish. The piece displays a traditional Persian garden design comprising a central grid of garden panels, water courses, flowering plants, shrubs, and a central medallion. These motifs are framed by a wide dark navy geometric border containing flowering tree designs rendered in terracotta, blue, and cream tones. Slight wear is visible across the surface alongside a good pile and hand-washed appearance. Measuring 332 cm high by 268 cm wide and 1 cm deep, this large rectangular floor covering provides substantial presence for normal domestic use in a gentleman's library or living room. The construction utilises hand-knotted wool techniques typical of the region, creating a durable textile suitable for everyday placement on the floor.

FAQs

Originating from the town of Kula in western Anatolia, Kula carpets are traditional Turkish hand-knotted textiles known for their distinctive regional panel patterns, floral motifs, and rich colour palettes.

Traditional Anatolian carpets are hand-knotted using natural wool pile on a wool or cotton foundation, utilising organic vegetable dyes to colour the yarns.

Authentic pieces display hand-knotted construction visible on the reverse side, slight natural variations in weave density, subtle colour abrash shifts, and soft wear to the wool pile.

A garden-panel carpet grounds a living space when positioned beneath neutral seating, adding structured geometric proportion and rich warmth to modern decor.

Vacuum gently without a rotary brush head, rotate the carpet annually to distribute foot traffic evenly, and employ specialist rug conservators for deep cleaning.
