Vintage Norwegian Silver & Purple Enamel Butterfly Brooch by Hroar Prydz

A striking vintage Norwegian silver and enamel butterfly brooch. The wings are in beautiful guilloche enamel in a mauve purple, edged in black with black details: they curve slightly to reflect the light. The enamel to the body of the butterfly is in a lighter shade of mauve. The edges and feelers and the rear of the brooch have a warm gilt finish.

Period: c.1950's

The back of the brooch is marked 'Sterling 925 S Norway' with the mark for the well known Norwegian jewellery designer Hroar Prydz who worked (It also bears later import hallmarks for London 1982). There is a good fastening clasp at the back that works well.

 

Butterfly brooches by Hroar Prydz are highly sought after and make fabulous gifts. In lovely vintage condition.
