An Exquisite Pair of Georgian Silver Cased Sewing Scissors

An exquisite pair of sewing scissors in a Georgian silver case. The case, bearing only the Maker's mark, is silver with bright cut decoration. There is a vacant cartouche to both front and back. The scissors are steel, with bright cut and floral engraving to the silver handles and feature most unusual hinged thumb and finger grips. A delightful and rare item of sewing ware from the Georgian Regency period. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no holes or splits to the silver case. The scissors have blemishes associated with steel that has been in use for many years and there are a couple of minor blemishes to the case. Both commensurate with age and use.
