Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
They are of excellent quality, with beautifully turned solid walnut legs sitting on porcelain casters. They would be great in various settings around the home, particularly as window seats or as bedroom furniture.
We have had them upholstered in a cream cotton fabric and the wood has been polished, they are in excellent condition. There is just some minor historical wear here and there beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
