Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.

The designers mark for Albert Scharning is marked on the reverse along with 'Norway Sterling 925s'. Scharning produced his pieces in Oslo and his son Per took over the business when Albert died in the 1950's. The company closed in the 1980's.

Great for a collector of Norwegian jewellery. A very unusual brooch and in great condition with a good fastening pin.
