Hukin & Heath spoon warmer

Designer Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) UK

Manufactured by Hukin & Heath, Birmingham, England, circa 1880

Silverplate with ebony handle.

Stamped mark H&H with eagle, design number 2693

Original, in period, groundbreaking stylish piece by this seminal designer.

Unlike other contemporary spoon warmers where the spoon rests in hot water, the innovative Dresser here sports a separate reservoir for the hot water, with screw cap.

Electro plated nickel silver (EPNS)

In good, sound, presentable condition with no repairs, food etched wear to the inside of the spoon cavity, pushed in filler cap, some light dents, wear to silver plate surface.

Overall width 6" or 152mm, weight 389 grams
