Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The hip flask evolved from medieval pewter and leather containers, becoming particularly popular during the 18th and 19th centuries amongst travellers, hunters, and sportsmen who required portable sustenance.

Authentic period flasks are typically constructed from solid sterling silver, often featuring hand-soldered seams, captive screw caps to prevent loss, and sometimes glass-lined or leather-covered bodies.

Authenticity is verified through the presence of British hallmarks stamped directly onto the metal, indicating the assay office, date letter, and makers mark alongside precise hand-engraving.

Displaying a polished silver flask on a study desk, bar cart, or bookshelf adds a touch of classic sophistication and historical texture to contemporary interior schemes.

Clean silver using a soft microfibre cloth and a specialised, non-abrasive silver polish, avoiding harsh chemical dips that can damage intricate engravings and remove desirable historical patination.
