Victorian 1886 Silver Horseshoe Brooch and Earrings in Original Box

Presented in its original velvet and satin-lined box, this set would make a fabulous gift of love and luck.

The lid of the box is marked "A present from The Shipperies, Liverpool 1886". The Shipperies was a Liverpool pub established in 1886 and believed to have been built as a lodging house for visitors to the neighbouring Shipperies International Exhibition of Navigation, Travelling, Commerce and Manufacture that same year. A little piece of history!

• Condition: Excellent antique condition, the pieces look as though they may not have left the box in the past 135 years. The silver has a wonderful patina, you could polish it to a higher shine if you prefer but this kind of finish only comes once in a lifetime.

• Fixing: Ear wires, C clasp.

• Hallmarks/stamps: None, test as sterling silver.

• Era: Victorian, 1886.

• Brooch size: 2.8cm diameter.

• Earrings size: 1.3cm diameter, 2.2cm drop.
