Victorian Scottish Silver Agate Brooch C1860

Technical Description
 
A 19th century Scottish silver and agate brooch with ornately engraved silver and cairngorm citrines, the shape is referred to as a pseudo-penannular type brooch. The silver is mounted with a handmade scrolling c-clasp and tube hinge. The silver is set with four stones including bloodstone and red jasper. The ''classic'' bloodstone is green jasper (chalcedony) with red inclusions of hematite.

Scotland or England, c1880. Period of Victoria.
 
Condition
 
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. Pin to rear in full working order. Silver unmarked which is quite normal for Scottish Jewellery of this type.
