Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Each earring has two cut and shaped claw set garnets: a square gem set diagonally as the top with a peardrop suspended below. The reverse of the settings are solid and the gems are foil backed, which enhances the reflective qualities and depth of colour of the rich red garnets.

Condition: there is a tiny pinprick chip to one edge of a square stone near the claw, and light surface marks, commensurate with age.
