A beautiful burr walnut davenport desk, English, Circa 1870.
Superb quality, this davenport desk boasts a wonderful colour and grain, with intricate marquetry inlaid detail and in excellent condition.
There are 4 drawers down the right hand side and 4 matching dummy drawers on the left hand side. The hinged lid lifts to reveal a slide out writing surface with newly fitted hand dyed tan leather inset top, this leather section can be adjusted in writing angle and has a stationary storage section with inkwell to the side.
There are small drawers inside and a secret button which enable the top lid to pop open, this top section is fitted with dividers.
Finished all around so this piece can be freestanding in the room, with panelled front and back and on casters.
