Victorian Scottish pebble jewellery is a style of accessory, often featuring local hardstones like agate, jasper, and bloodstone set in silver, which gained immense popularity during Queen Victorias frequent visits to the Scottish Highlands.

Traditional pieces are crafted from solid silver and set with native Scottish semi-precious stones, predominantly various colours of agate, jasper, and sometimes cairngorm quartz.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate pin mechanisms, hand-engraved silver work often with Celtic or weaponry motifs, and tightly fitted natural stones without modern synthetic adhesives.

These historical pieces can be worn as lapel pins on heavy wool coats and blazers, or mounted in shadow boxes as part of a curated display of historical artefacts.

Store items in dry, tarnish-resistant pouches away from direct sunlight, and clean the silver gently with a specialist microfibre cloth while avoiding harsh liquid chemical dips that can damage natural stones.
