Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1940s.
On the back is a good fastening pin and next to this the designers mark for Knut A Rasmussen, plus marks stating '925 S, Norway sterling'.

Rasmussen produced his pieces in Oslo and died in the 1950's. He produced very unusual modernist jewellery and was very much a forerunner in style: his jewellery is admired and very collectable.

Great for a collector of Norwegian jewellery. Unusual brooch and in very good condition, other than some very slight wear to the gilding on the reverse.
Period: circa 1940's.
