Rare English Victorian Military Sterling Silver Whistle 1874 Antique

Description

A superb rare English Victorian antique solid sterling silver military whistle. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1874 with the makers mark being double stuck. The chain looks to be silver plate, the loop in the lions nose is silver so I assume the lion is. It in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It works great and whistles well. The whistle measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.6cm) including the loop by almost 1 inch (2.4cm) wide, the lion measures 1.25 inches (3.2cm) across and the chain 18.5 inches long (47cm) long including the loops and the whole piece weighs 38 grams. A superbly made piece.
