In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has a slightly dished wooden top which turns on a large screw and the height can be adjusted from approximately 19" (48cm) high to 23" (59cm) high.

Below the seat is the maker's name "Thomas Organ Co. Woodstock, Ontario, Canada".
It is in good condition for its age. The revolving mechanism runs smoothly with very minimal give side to side and the stool is stable when extended upwards. The wood is free from any major knocks or splits and is overall a sturdy construction. There are of course some signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
