Vintage Norwegian Silver Gilt Butterfly Brooch by Hroar Prydz

A gorgeous Norwegian vintage silver and enamel butterfly brooch by Hroar Prydz. This example has an exceptionally pretty natural colour combination of light green and a warm brown with black accents. The guilloche enamel wings are very finely detailed, and the wings curve slightly to reflect the light and highlight the detail. The body, wing edges and antennae and the back of the brooch are all in the silver gilt finish.

 

The back of the brooch is marked 'Sterling 925 S Norway' with the mark for the well known Norwegian jewellery designer Hroar Prydz, circa 1950. There is a fastening clasp at the back and the brooch is in great condition.
