Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco bronze sculptures feature stylised forms, dynamic athletic poses, and simplified geometric contours representing the human body. Popularised during the interwar period in Europe, these sculptures celebrated movement, modern dance, and physical agility through metalwork finishes.

Figures were cast in bronze using lost-wax or sand casting methods before being silvered, patinated, or cold-painted. Castings were frequently mounted onto turned or stepped marble, onyx, or slate bases to provide contrasting textures and structural weight.

Authentic period sculptures often exhibit incised artist signatures, foundry marks, or casting stamps on the metal surface or base perimeter. Genuine examples also feature fine hand-chasing, balanced proportions, and expected age-related wear or oxidisation to silver plating.

Position the sculpture on a focal surface such as a sideboard, mantelpiece, or console table against a neutral or dark backdrop. Pairing metallic artwork with clean-lined contemporary furniture allows the dynamic silhouette of the figure to stand out.

Dust the sculpture regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to prevent airborne particulate accumulation. Avoid using liquid metal polishes or harsh chemical solvents, as these agents can permanently strip historical silver plating and patination.
