Three Cold Painted Budgerigars Perched on a Leafy Branch

An exceptional and large scale Art Deco cold-painted bronze sculpture depicting three vibrant blue budgerigars. The trio is realistically modelled, perched close together upon a beautifully detailed, leafy naturalistic branch.

The craftsmanship of this Austrian bronze is superb. It retains a remarkably fresh and bright polychrome palette, with fine feather detailing meticulously preserved. Its vibrant condition strongly suggests it has spent the nearly past century safely displayed inside a protective cabinet.

The sculpture is securely mounted onto its original, beautifully moulded and polished black marble base, which features elegant white, grey, and sable inclusions. For preservation, the underside of the marble is fully lined with leather to protect fine tabletop surfaces.
