English Solid Sterling Silver Figure 'Alec' Desk Wax Seal 1899 Antique Cherub

Description

A beautiful rare solid sterling silver desk wax seal. It is hallmarked with the foreign mark along with Chester 1899 and the makers mark being B Muller & Son (Berthold Muller). It has been beautifully cast in the form of boy or cherub carrying a slipper. The base of the seal has been engraved with the name Alec. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.6cm) tall by over 0.75 inch (2.2cm) across the end and weighs 20 grams. A beautifully made rare piece.

Declaration

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
