Description

A superb rare cast solid silver miniature tennis figure / statue / trophy. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1937 with the maker being Turner & Simpson Ltd. It has been superbly cast in the form of a tennis player mounted on a wooded plinth and the plaque has been engraved 'THE CHEMICAL AGE LAWN TENNIS TOURNAMENT THE INVICTA TROPHY Presented by THOMAS HILL-JONES LTD WINNER 1937 DOUBLES C.G. SMITH'. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 6.75 inches (17cm) tall including the plinth and 3.5 inches (9cm) excluding it by 2 inches (5cm) wide across the base of the statue and weighs 176 grams (including the plinth). A superb rare piece.
