Very Rare George III Silver Hand Warmer

18th century
Description

Very rare early George III steel hand warmer of rectangular design with perforated grille and sliding compartment door, one side finely decorated with beautifully detailed fox hunting scene. The interior of the reverse engraved with the owners name: ‘Joseph Harrison Gateshead 1760’.

It is further engraved with makers mark T Shaw.

A beautiful example, with wonderful patination.
