Superb Art Deco Silver & Pastel Enamel Compact 1942

A very pretty and superior quality circular compact decorated in an art deco pattern of a pale eau de nil green square on a pink background. The compact has been decorated using the precise guilloche technique that produces an almost two-tone and three dimension effect. The beautiful colours have been skilfully graduated giving an ombre effect, fading to the palest pink and green towards the hinge.

 

A particularly lovely compact for the collector.

 

Hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office Birmingham 1942 with makers mark for Henry Clifford Davis.

 

Condition: Slight discolouration at the very edge of the enamel around the compact. The mirror is in great condition. The powder holder is not present.
