Rare 268g Evald Nielsen Sterling Silver Deco Cigarette Case Danish Hidden Catch

1940 - 1960
Description

A top quality rare heavy solid sterling silver cigarette case. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the makers mark of Evald Nielsen one of the most highly regarded Danish silversmiths. I would date it to c1930-1950. It has been superbly designed having a hidden catch mechanism which works perfect, i.e. the lid springs open automatically when it is depressed. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 6 inches (15.1cm) by 3 inches (7.7cm) wide and weighs a heavy 268 grams. A superbly designed rare piece.
