A rare antique solid silver gilt and enamel souvenir spoon. It is marked with the 800 standard mark and other marks and dates to c1914. It has been superbly designed with the bowl depicting Pope Pius X, I suspect it was made to mark his passing in 1914 - with the background being black, perhaps purchased by someone attending his laying in state? It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The enamel is perfect. It measures approx. 5.25 inches (13.2cm) long and weighs 15 grams. A rare and interesting piece.
