Victorian English Sterling Silver Toast Rack / Letter Holder - 1897

Description

A most attractive antique sterling silver toast rack, these days often used on the desk top as a stylish catch-all, for letters, receipts and business cards.

Standing on it's four original ball feet, this is a nice solid example with a good gauge of silver weighing in at 2.45 Troy Ounces or 76.4 Grams.

There is a good clear hallmark for Birmingham 1897, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present, EJH over NH into a shield for the silversmiths, Haseler Brothers -Edward John Haseler & Noble Haseler.

Excellent condition, measuring 4 3/8" x 2 5/8" x 4" tall to top of handle.
