Huge Rare English Sterling Silver Potato Dish Ring Stand 1907 Antique 380g

Description

A super quality rare English solid sterling silver potato ring dish (used to support hot serving dishes and plates on tables to stop the table getting marked). It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1907 with the maker’s marks being that of Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd. It has superbly designed and has been beautifully engraved 'PRESENTED TO THE REV'D T & MRS SAVAGE-TYERS ON THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING EC 8TH 1918 BY THEIR AFFECTIONATE CHILDREN Arthur, Herbert, Constance, Theodore, Cecil, Muriel & Gerald' each of the children's names go around the dish. It has been pierced with a classical design and is in superb condition being free from splits and repairs. It measures approx. 8 inches (20cm) across the base by 7.5 inches (18.5cm) across the top by 3.75 inches (9.3cm) tall and weighs 380 grams. A very high quality very well made rare piece.
