Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Stamp boxes became prominent desk accessories in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries following the introduction of the Penny Black and standardized postal service. Silversmiths created functional and novelty forms, such as mini trunks, furniture, and garden trugs, to store and protect adhesive postage stamps.

Edwardian stamp boxes were primarily constructed from sterling silver, brass, or nickel-plated metals, often incorporating glass or celluloid viewing panels. Inner compartments sometimes featured sloped gilt interiors to prevent stamps from adhering to the metal base.

Authentic British silver pieces feature full official hallmarks, including a lion passant for sterling silver, an assay office symbol (such as a leopard head for London or an anchor for Birmingham), a makers mark, and a specific date letter corresponding to 1910.

A small silver novelty item functions well placed on a home office desk, atop a stack of leather-bound books on a bookshelf, or grouped with other silver collectables on a side table or console.

Clean sterling silver using a dry, soft silver-polishing cloth to remove tarnish and finger oils. Avoid submerging items with glass windows or internal paper elements in water or using abrasive liquid cleaners that can damage fine joints.
