We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Art Deco lighting is characterised by geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and a strong emphasis on modern industrial materials such as chrome and polished metals.

Authentic period desk lamps were typically constructed from solid brass, cast iron, or spun steel, frequently finished with nickel or chrome plating.

Authenticity is identified through period-appropriate wiring methods, makers marks, heavy cast bases, and traditional construction techniques such as riveted joints and threaded fittings.

Such pieces serve as functional focal points on workspaces or side tables, contrasting effectively against warm woods or matte textured walls to add a touch of metallic sheen.

Clean chrome surfaces using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to avoid scratching, and refrain from using harsh chemical abrasives that can degrade the metallic plating.
