Antique Victorian Sterling Silver 8" Photo Frame 1897

Description

This is a superb antique Victorian sterling silver photo frame measuring 8" (20 cms) x 6 1/2" (17 cms) with the opening measuring 4 1/2" (12.5 cms) x 3 1/4" (8 cms) across.

It's hallmarked for London 1897 with the silversmiths mark for William Gibson & John Langman of the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co and the backstand of the frame is also marked 'Mappin & Webb, London'.

It has beautiful decoration of birds, animals and cherubs which is lovely and bold and the cartouche is engraved with a stag.

The whole frame is in excellent condition and comes in a gift box with a certificate of authenticity.
