Four Lucky Horse Shoe Sterling Silver Menu Place Card Holders 1930s Cased

1920 - 1940
Description

A superb set of four English solid sterling silver menu holders. They are all hallmarked for Birmingham with two dated 1932, one 1937 and one 1938 all with the same makers mark of Henry Griffith & Sons Ltd. They have been made in the form of lucky horse shoes (possibly Christmas pudding charms won over the years and brought to the Griffith works c1939 to be commissioned into menu holders as three have holes as if designed to be hung on a bracelet / necklace?). They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. They measure approx. 1.25 inches (3.2cm) tall by 1 inch (2.6cm) across and they have a combined weight of 34 grams. A very unusual possibly unique set.
