Rare Novelty 800 Solid Silver Champagne Cork Box Belgian C1940

Description

A super quality rare solid silver novelty box. It is hallmarked with the 800 standard mark, and what I think is a Belgian mark consisting of an A followed by three numbers. I would date it to c1940-1950. It has been superbly designed being in the form of a champagne cork and is marked underneath CHAMPAGNE. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 1.25 inches (3.2cm) tall by the same across the top by almost 1 inch (2.2cm) across the base and weighs 26 grams. A top quality very unusual example.
