Austro-hungarian Import Solid Silver Pill Snuff Box 1920 German Export

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautiful German export solid silver snuff or pill box. It is hallmarked with the makers mark of Martin Mayer who was active from 1888, it is also marked with the Austro-Hungarian import mark. I would date it to c1920-1940. It has been superbly made and is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the inside is clean and gilded and the lid closes tightly. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.6cm) across by over 1.5 inches (4cm) wide by almost 0.75 inch (1.6cm) tall and weighs 22 grams. A very pretty piece.
