Rare Antique Solid Silver Photo Vesta Case C1900 Antique

1900 - 1920
Description

A rare German export antique solid silver combination vesta case picture / photo frame. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown mark along with the 800 standard mark and the makers mark of Louis Kuppenheim. It has been made for export and also carries the Austrian-Hungary import mark. I would date it to c1900. It has been superbly designed and is in very good condition being free from dings splits and repairs - maybe the photo frame should have glass in it? It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.6cm) tall by almost 1.5 inches (3.6cm) wide and weighs 32 grams. A beautifully designed rare piece.
