Victorian Mahogany Revolving Piano Stool

19th century
Description

An elegant Victorian Piano Stool made from mahogany with an upholstered seat. The stool stands on three splayed legs with a central turned support. It is an excellent quality piece with a lovely rich colour and superb quality carved details. It has a maker's name below the seat for "J.Fitter. Birmingham"

It is nicely upholstered with a creamy beige buttoned top and braid edge. It is not new upholstery and there are some marks and a few minor old stains on the cover. It displays well as it is but could of course be re-upholstered to suit.

It can be adjusted in height by spinning the seat around to move it up or down. At its lowest adjustable position it is 19" (48cm) and at its highest adjustable position it is approximately 22" (56cm).

It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. The revolving mechanism runs smoothly with very minimal give side to side and when extended upwards the stool is very stable. There are some small marks and minor knocks around the base and there has been a repair to the tip of one foot but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully and is certainly a very usable piece.

Approximate Measurements :

Height (at its lowest adjustable position) : 19" (48cm)

Height (at its highest adjustable position) : 22" (56cm)

Diameter of seat : 13" (33cm)

Width across base : 17 1/4" (44cm)

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
