Very decorative and well proportioned Edwardian black lacquered piano duet stool, circa 1900.
The pale duck egg damask fabric looks to have been done very recently and is in good condition, with one very small mark to part of the double pipe edging only.
The seat lifts and offers storage space with a “stay” hinge to one side.
This stool will work as a dressing table stool, end of bed stool, window seat, hall bench etc etc.
Good condition and stands solid, some of the usual age related marks as you expect from the black lacquer, but all under many many layers of beeswax polish with no white coming through.
Measuring:
20 1/2 inches or 52 cm seat height
37 inches or 94 cm wide
14 inches or 35.5 cm deep.
