Description

A lovely solid silver needle case with a gilt interior. The case is beautifully embossed with flowers & swirls and has a small vacant cartouche on the lid. When the lid is opened lovely bright gilding inside is revealed. There is also a chain so it could be attached to a chatelaine.

Clear hallmarks are visible on the base for Chester 1898 along with the maker's mark for the silvermaker: Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings, with part hallmarks on the lid.

A super gift for a seamstress and in great condition.
