Beautiful Rare Solid Silver Filigree Novelty Book Box C1900 Antique 88g

Description

A superb rare solid silver filigree table desk box. It is unmarked but test as high grade silver. I would date it to c1900 possibly slightly earlier. It has been beautifully made and is in the form of a book possibly designed to hold a small Bible or prayer book. It has a small later inscription along one edge, easy to remove. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. All the filigree work is complete and it clicks shut. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.2cm) across by 2.25 inches (6cm) wide by 0.75 inch (1.9cm) tall and weighs 88 grams. A very nice quality rare piece.
