Description

This is an American clear glass perfume bottle. It was made circa 1890 by Alvin Manufacturing Co of Providence, Rhode Island. The glass body is encased with hallmarked .999 standard fine silver.

The bottle has a spherical stopper and a bulbous body with a slender neck. The silver decoration is of Art Nouveau form with scrolling foliate designs and engraved detail.

Unfortunately the bottom of the stopper is broken, though it still sits in position perfectly. The interior of the bottle is a bit dirty. There are some numbers engraved to the underside. Otherwise it is in good order with general wear and tear.
