M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
. The front face of the triangular base with carved shell detail, the other two facets of plain form . The tops fitted with decorative cast gilt-metal or tole , leaf-design candle-holders or bobeches , with candle spikes inside , and having circular drip-guards to the stem below.

The bright gilding in excellent condition with only minor areas of atmospheric wear showing traces of the red gesso or bole ground beneath ‘bleeding’ through. Minor natural shrinkage cracks to gesso surfaces .
No damage, losses or repairs.
