Description

A beautiful Edwardian solid silver card case or aide memoire with wonderful floral engraved design and central vacant cartouche. The case opens to reveal the original lined interior in green leather, with writing wafer. Hallmarked Chester 1904 by Colen Hewer Cheshire.

Hallmarked to both sides; the silver absolutely stunning condition retaining the sharp engraved detail. The inside the leather is a little tired, however has a wonderful addition in the form of a calendar from 1905 and 1906 with calling cards, for a Mr W P H Pollock of Netherhall Gardens, Hampstead.

Written in pencil on the writing wafer is a note that reads: ‘the calendar shows all the days we met when engaged’.

In excellent overall condition throughout; a great example.
