A beautiful very interesting hand made English antique solid sterling silver chalice cup. It is hallmarked for London 1903 with the maker’s marks being that of Wakely & Wheeler (James Wakely & Frank Clarke Wheeler). It has a superbly made having three organic beautifully decorated handles. Interestingly the base has been lightly engraved 'Sydney Ringer FRS Xmas 1906', Sydney Ringer was a famous Victorian Physician and Pharmacologist who invented Ringer's Solution. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 3.5 inches (9cm) tall by 2.25 inches (6cm) across the rim by over 2 inches (5.4cm) across the base and is heavy weighting 170 grams. A very beautifully made very high quality piece with an interesting history.
