A Victorian silver mounted cut-glass preserve jar by Heath and Middleton for Hukin and Heath, hallmarked Birmingham 1896 and 1906. The base is hallmarked 1896 and the lid 1906, however is a perfect fit and both prices are marked for maker Hukin & Heath. It is possible the lid was replaced in 1906.

The lid is an impressive weight at 67 grams.

In excellent condition throughout, surface scratches to the base commensurate with age and use.
